I am planning a 3D workstation build using the Asus P9X79 WS Motherboard (OC kit), 32GB RAM, overclocked and watercooled i7 4930 and potentially multiple GTX 580s for rendering duties.

I am looking for a stylish case (black aluminum preferably) with good airflow, a decent amount of room (but not silly big) . Apparently the WS mobo needs good airflow due to the toasty chipset which provides 4 x full speed 16 lane PCI slots. So cooling efficiency is a primary consideration.

It will only need room for 2 x hard disks +1 bluray drive.

I am overwhelmed with the choice to be honest. ATC cases, server cases, watercooled cases..... !

I am looking at the 750D. Looks nice but but am not so sure about airflow through the front.
The 900D is out of budget (and huge) I want to keep it under £180.
The Corsair Carbide 540 looks like a strong candidate.

What do folks in the know around here recommend for a project such as this?

cheers.

The 750D and 540 are great contenders.

Firstly, how is your CPU watercooled, using an AIO? or custom?

If so what rad, pump, block do you have?

The Silverstone TemJin TJ09 is a pretty fine workstation case. You can pick up the silver version for £115...for some reason the black is £174 and as far as I can tell they're identical.

I was planning (this is all on paper atm) to get the Corsair Hydro H100i AIO cooler (or something similar depending on which AIO appears to offer best performance)

will take a look at the Temjin, cheers (I have a Silverstone HTPC case so I am familar with the brand).
