Case in a desk cupboard

I've bought the following desk and plan to put the PC box i'm buying in the cupboard to the right in the following pic;

Do you think it will overheat or not really cause to much of a problem?
I may leave the back panel off the desk....

I've always thought that I'd like to do something like that with the pc case completely hidden in a desk or something. My idea though was to mod the desk with some intake and exhaust fans so that there is a constant supply of cool air for the case and the warm air is being removed.
 
It was more of a htpc sort of idea. Building a pc into an existing cabinet, for use in a living room or something like that.
