Case making expanding noises?

hey guys, i recently switched my pc from a storm trooper to a enthoo luxe

Now note my cable management wasnt the best but my case makes clicking and tapping noises when ever it gets heated up, for example when i play a game it will make noises

is this due to my bad cable management or is the case truly expanding slightly under heat?

Are you 100% sure it's the case? Is the sound in one particular area?

I'd say expansion under heat - it's not uncommon. My 600T used to do it.

it must be, i keep my pc off all day when at work and due to winter it gets very cold

then i come home and turn pc on, it instantly starts making ticking and tapping noises then after a while they stop (bear in mind i got a 290x in here)

then when i switch my pc off the noises start again for a while then stop

is there anything i need to be concerned about?

Probably just the case making that noise, my TV does the same and I've had that 4 years now.

My 800D case does the same...nothing to worry about

I've never noticed with mine but I doubt I generate as much heat as you.

My Lian Li case does the exact same thing, and my Coolermaster before that. You can reduce the expanding sound slightly by using noise dampening foam, and using screws like these.

The only thing I've got that does that is the PS3, my 650D doesn't but no I wouldn't be worried.

I also have an enthoo luxe it also makes creaking nioses when it warms up and cools down, not a lot you can do about it.

My primo is the same, probably the plastic parts on it. Never had this with my lian Li A70f as there were no plastic parts on the frame.

Yeah i think its the plastic, my case does it when its got the front panels on, but i never noticed it with it stripped down to the metal, both my TV and IPS monitor also does the same, but my TN doesnt as i guess it doesnt get warm.

It is the way a lot of panels use press studs to attach them, not screws. Not a design flaw just the only way to build a case without screws/rivets everywhere
