Case mistake :(

So Xmas day arrives and I start to build my water cooling loop, however my new H440 case is just not big enough to house my res and rad

shame I really like the design but it just don't fit. I could mount the res out of sight but then I won't see its loveliness, oh well guess I need to hunt out a new case

the same thing happened to me with my 540.. the res I chose looks great but was way overkill for the case
so I cut a hole in the top of the case and made a feature of it

What res did you get?

I have no problem fitting a large res and 2 x 240mm rads in here as well as a D5 pump as well.

I got the xspc photon 270 ddc built in, with a 360mm at the top, it physically won't fit in between the bottom of the PS3 cover and the fans at the top. If I take all the had bays out I could hid it there... Seems a shame to hide it.

Do this, it looks great! Yes its a shame to hide it but im thinking about going one step further and chopping the HDD panel out or shortening it at least so I can see the Reservoir.

This is what I was thinking of doing, what have you attached it too ? I was thinking of attaching it to the hdd panel that your thinking of cutting out.

This is how mine is mounted.

I basically drilled a hole in one of the HDD bays and mounted the res holder to it. If you have a 250mm res and not a 150mm though I can see how it could be a problem.

Yes, it's the res size. Only other way to do it is get a smaller res. but seems a bit of a shame to waste what I have.
