Hi All,

I have a Corsair Carbide 500R case and I am planning on modifying it for a side window but I'm not planning on just removing the mesh and adding in acrylic, I am planning on completely cutting out the bulge on the case and adding a big acrylic window.

My question is, for anyone who has cut apart a case, what tinsnips do you all use to get a clean cut?

I'm going to be sanding the sides and adding a black frame but would rather have a clean cut first time round.

Thanks! :)

try these Wiss Aviation Compound Tin Snips ive had mine for around 15 years. about 15 pound on the bay.

At first I just took out the mesh and had a small window, but then I did the whole buldged part and put some rubber u-channel around the edge.

Awesome!! I want to remove the full bulge as well. And then recycle the mesh for the visible side/front of the hdd cages :)

Will post a thread when I get around to doing it, may well be next month as I'm away from home a lot this month :( no time to muck around with my case.

I was thinking of looking if you could get some rubber channel in the shape of a H then you could cut the perspex a few mm smaller than the whole you cut and slot it into the H channel but not sure if this would work out

one of these 3" air cutters, bits for dremels are expensive and last 5 seconds
