Case noise - how to fix?

Hi all,

I know what im about to ask is going to sound lazy, but here goes.

Got a Coolermaster case ATCS, had it about 3-4 years now and its great. Recently, last 2-3 weeks its getting louder and louder. Ive had a look inside and i cant seem to work out why, everything is clean. ok the wires arnt great but not catching anything....

Is there anywhere you cantake a case and let them sort it out for you as im working just about 7 days a week for the next 4-5 weeks and havent got the time to do it...

TYIA for any advise, maybe i just need new fans, i guess after 3 years they will wear out or something?

you probably want to be taking everything to bits and cleaning it all properly. Replacing 3 year old fans will no doubt help too. Hell if you paid for everything i'd do it for you but it will probably only take you half an hour one night.
 
There’s only place which specialise in this sort of thing & in my option there clueless & evil competitors, they also charge crazy money.

It really is only a 5/10min job of going through each part.

It is ether going to be fans, psu, or HDD’s all get nosier with age.

Then it’s a simple matter of oiling the bearings is you want to be cheap with the fans or buying new ones. putting washers on hdds, changing psu fan or replacing it.

If you pcs in manc ill do it free.
 
Cheers all - i think new fans are the way to go, might have a look at replacing some of the very wide cables with thin cables too...

time to go check out the fan section :)
 
just go through the process of disconnecting power from the items, power the system up and see how much difference you notice.
 
if the noise has got worse over a few weeks, it will be down to a moving part in the case... ie Fan or a HDD or Optical Drive.
 
Loads of fans to pick from.... ok, which are the best for quiet opperations? I think its one of the two front fans thats making the noise, maybe the PSU too....

maybe its the god of PC's telling me to go buy a new box lol..
