not used these cans before so don't know how well the paint flows or what coverage is like. however ive had good results with halfords cans before and using them i'd say 2 cans of primer and 3-4 cans of top coat as a minimum

ok so a couple of cans of each minimum, maybe 3 cans of the tops coat to be sure.

thank you all.

A few rules when painting

Take plenty of time to sand and mask and prep. A whole case should take about a day with a few breaks here and there.

Dust is the enemy. It settles on the wet paint and really spoils the finish. Find somewhere dust free to spray or make yourself a little booth from some big cardboard boxes and polythene sheet.

Take time when spraying, lots of thin coats. don't get carried away and think that it's going on nicely I'll just give it a bit more of a spray". Do this and I guarantee you'll end up with runs. You'll then have to stop work on it for 48 hours while you wait for it to dry so you can sand the run out. How do i know? cos i've made that mistake myself. (see carboot log)

Likewise do not be tempted to touch the paint to see how well it's drying.

If you can spray surfaces horizontally as there is less chance of runs forming.
