Hi all.

I’ve just upgraded my motherboard and processor. When the computer is off the power LED on my case is still on.

in the bios there’s a setting ‘turn on onboard LED in S5’ which is set to disabled (I’ve tried both enabled and disabled).

does anyone know what setting might be required to turn the power led off when the computer is off?

my motherboard is an Asrock A520M-ITX/ac

many thanks.

m.

Mine (Asus X99 Pro USB 3.1) has a setting that keeps the USBs powered even when the PC is shut down.
I would presume yours has something similar, which is why the case power LED is showing.

Worth checking if it's a split + and - you've put the headers on the correct way round
It’s a split + and - and yes I’ve checked and they are the correct way around. My assumption is it wouldn’t work at all if it were the wrong way around?

In case it's due to hybrid sleep that Windows 10/11 does when shutting down, does turning off fast startup help? It's not really needed if you have a fast SSD as a boot drive.

Fast boot is disabled .
Having a look at the manual, in the BIOS settings, under ACPI Configuration is Deep Sleep also disabled? Can't see anything else that could be making the board keep the light on. And just to check, are you on the latest BIOS?

Yeah, it came with 1.8 but I flashed it with 1.9 this morning to see if that would make any difference but sadly not.

Not sure if this will help with the power LED but look for a setting called ErP Ready. That controls things like USB's remaining powered when the computer is turned off. Worth a shot
