Hello,

I'm planning on watercooling my rig as a little project over the summer whilst I'm not at uni. I want fit a triple rad, so my question is what cases can accommodate one, and what (if any) modifications would need to be done? my budget can probably stretch to about £120 for the case.

Thanks

Woody. :)

Well I'd prefer something with a bit of room left over - I don't want it to be too much of a squeeze, I don't mind doing small modifications, but would prefer not to have to hack the case into pieces.

I'll be cooling a 4000+ and an X1800XT using 1/2 inch tubing.

i'd go for a 120.2 instead then, 120.3 is a bit over kill, but if your set on it then look at something like a stacker, or you could mod your own water cooling box thing to sit under a case of your choice

Funny you should mention the stacker - just been having a look at it... I really like the old 810, the newer stackers look awful. Are the old 810's still stocked anywhere? (I know you can't mention competitors - maybe someone could PM if so) or are they only available 2nd hand?

that sucks, but least you know where to get one now, or you could just do a google search

could always try something like the thermaltake LCS series, bit more expensive, but the include a 120.2 rad, built in, and tbh, i'd advise a 120.2 rad anyway, much more practical, and the thermaltakes dont look to bad either :p

Alphacool do a pre-modded Stacker case with a 360mm radiator in the roof. It's available as a complete kit with the Eheim pump and NeXXos block or just the case and radiator.

Check it out on the Alphacool website. Unfortunately I can't link you directly as they sell into the UK and are therefore competitors.

I don't want Thermaltake WC stuff - I want good performance! :P The Mozart case is the only Thermaltake case I like but I prefer the stacker.

Ah yes, thats exactly what I'm after - but it seems very pricey when the rad is around £35 and the case is £105... Would it be difficult to cut 3 holes out the case myself?

No. But I only posted because you seemed to be having trouble getting a case. What price were you quoted? If it's 400Euro, that's the whole thing with cooling fluid and everything. The basic case and radiator is no more expensive than buying the two separately as far as I can recall.

I can only find the 399 euro's one with the whole system in it - I cannot find one with just the rad and case anywhere on the site.

Send Alphacool an e-mail and I think you'll find they'll do it for about £150 delivered with the grill and the barbs and everything.
