Hi guys, it's getting to that time where I'm thinking my case has pretty much had it. I bought it a couple of years ago, a Xigmatek Midgard but it's been bashed about a bit and doesn't look too nice anymore! Its a very meshy case, so dust builds up pretty quickly, which I'm not liking.

I'd like to grab a new case in a couple of weeks, and give everything a good clean out, anyone got any case recommendations? I'd really like something that is quiet, which is why I've been looking at a Fractal R4, because they seem to be quite popular?

That soprano looks pretty good acutally.

The R4 isn't as great noise wise as the R3 (a bit of a let down really)..

The 550D is also a good option if sound is the main concern..

Didn't OcUK stop stocking Fractal as the build quality was beginning to get poor?

What form factor and budget?

Yes they did, though i think that was when the R4 was launched..

IIRC, it was the 'core' and 'arc' cases which had the issues..

His Motherboard is ATX and an R4 is £80-£100..Go figure..

A quiet case that I would recommend from Thermaltake is the Soprano

It has sound-damping foams for extreme silence

Please please please don't buy this case , its utter garbage, i built into one a few weeks ago, cheap and nasty and really poorly put together. Even the dvd trays where not straight. Don't get me wrong thermaltake make some awesome cases, but this is really poor.

While this might not be as quiet as you want ( compared to my old system is silent ... ) the amount of space and access to everything is amazing :-

This came as an OC built system as I’m working away a lot and just did not have the time to build as I have in the past and to be honest I would not have picked this case but I’m not sending it back :-) its size is just huge and airflow is very very good ... more than happy with it.
