hey i'm looking into buying a gaming PC, i'm pretty sure of what components i'm gonna buy the only thing i'm not sure about is which case to get. Why are some cases so much more expensive than others, what are the benefits gained from having an expensive case? for example why is the antec 900 around £90 where as some of the zalmans are close to £300?

The Zalmans are £300 because some people are idiots. ;)

Expensive cases tend to have higher build quality, material finish, and engineering. I don't think I'll ever cut my hands open and bleed all over the place in my Lian Li V1000 like I've done on chintzy stamped steel cases. Some expensive cases are still crap and are just filled with gimmicks to grift fools out of their money.

As far as good cases go you usually can't go wrong with a Lian Li or a Silverstone.

Welcome to the forums. Claimed.

You dont really get that much more when you go over about £100-150 in terms of features, but the build quality gets better. As said Silverstones are very good, as are Lian Li's. Zalmans are a complete ripoff! Coolermaster and antec make good cases and are much cheaper. I would look into the HAF932 case, it's about £100 and everyone I've seen who has one loves it! It also has an insane amount of airflow. Personally I would advise against thermaltake and NZXT cases, they are usually lower quality and have loads of plastic in them.
