Guys, first post..go easy :p

Going for a major upgrade in next few days, moving to C2D. My old mobo is bad which obviously means a new board for C2D and PCIE.

Just trying to work out how much its all gonna cost me. Thing is i got a new a case not that long ago and was wondering if it is okay to house my new system.

The case is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-003-AR

Its doing a good job at the moment with my p4 3.2ghz, but im looking to add a good card and also a c2d proc, you reckon id get away with this case or should i just get a new one to go with all the other new components?

If so any recommendations?

Cheers

Should be fine that mate it says on the compatibility for both sizes Full ATX and micro.

You using the PSU that came with that case?

If in doubt, ring the shop they should be able to tell you if there's any fitting issues etc...

Otherwise just pickup an ugly beige Full ATX from somewhere like I did for a tenner, had this beaut for about 5 years now. Fits all my stuff in no problem might look ugly but no-one sees it its around the side of my desk. Plus.. comes in handy when the car needs jacking up!

Corsair are suppose to be good PSU's, I haven't ever owned one myself but a lot on here vouch for them.

Good idea, although I wouldn't wana get rid of my c2d ;)

The case is just about the only thing you can reuse in your next machine if you leave a couple of years between each upgrade - so buy one that is big enough. Everything else changes; I've just upgraded my machine and I had to buy just about everything new - even the IDE disks are difficult to fit on todays motherboards, as most of them only have 2 IDE ports. Case was no problem though. :)

Nothing that cant be fixed those though, cheap ide controller card or sata > ide cable.

If you get any case that takes a full atx mobo you shouldnt really need to worry. Just don't buy small cases and all should be fine.
