Hey,

Thought I'd share my current project of transplanting the contents of my 800D into my new Caselabs S8. Basic aim is for minimal sound, less heat and looks :D

The current spec going into it will be:

CPU: 3930K @ 4.6
GPU: 780 Sli
Mobo: X79 Rampage IV Extreme
Ram: 16GB Corsair Plat.
HDD: 2x 250GB SSD 1x 1TB HDD
PSU: Corsair 850 (May swap out for something else)

Cooling:

EK Clean CPU Block
EK Clean FC GPU Blocks with Clear FC Plexi terminals
3x Alphacool XT45 360
Bitspower 250 Tube Res
D5 Pump with Bitspower pump top and mod kit.
Bitspower fittings
Corsair SP and AF fans @ 7v.
Mayhems White Pastel.

I will try and take as many photos as I can along the way but I do tend just to plough on and get it done.

Today's progress - managed to get the case put together and the rads installed so I could start planning my loop. I'll be using bitspower 16mm enhanced rigid fittings.

Currently waiting on my tubing to arrive, bending tools, new lights and a few more fittings.

Love it all ready. Looking forward to it. Glad you got the 16's

Yeah so am i :) decided to go with the extended top and slimmer rads to really clean up with space above the mobo so the larger tubing stands out without it being too cramped - that's the plan at least!

Good to see another S8 on this forum :-)
Mine is few months old and there is still a lot of changes coming.
My advice is, do yourself a favor and get a pedestal too.
Case looks great, but cable management may be it's weak spot, if you use left side radiator mount.
Or just shorten your psu cables so they are very tight.
Cable management was and still is my main challenge with S8.
See for yourself, link in my sig.

I'll have to see but I don't like the looks of the pedestal that much so will just have to get the cables to work. I've got lots of fan spilters and 3 pin lights so really I shouldn't need that many cables plugged in. All the cables will be black as well to help blend them in.

First of all, wow fantastic photo's buddy, really top class, are you a professional photographer by any chance?
Looks like your going to have a cracking system with all those parts, and that case is fantastic, don't ever remember seeing one of those models before. Really looking forward to seeing the progress on this build :D

Nah its the equipment :)

Small update,

Managed to find a bit of time today and did my first few bends and lost my rigid virginity :D. Pretty happy so far with it all, it just takes a lot more time compared to soft tubing.

After taking the first two photos I noticed the tube was a little out of line so went back and straightened it up so it ran better vertically.

Waiting on some Dark Side LED lights to come in the post today and will crack on and hopefully get it all finished this weekend.

A bit out of line...

And sorted...

Can't wait to see the Res and tubing from the front when the fluid and lighting is sorted :)

Quick update...

So managed to finish my loop and do all the bends that took a lot longer than I was expecting. Ran into a few problems as well regarding the cables and PSU, I was planning on using a Corsair AX850 with black braided cables however I ordered the wrong cable kit that is meant for newer corsair PSUs so had to revert to a Sunflower LEDEX Gold 1300.

So I'm not 100% happy with the cable situation due to red and blue connectors being used for GPU and CPU cables. I think I'm going to stick with the Sunflower for now as the cable management in the case is a pain in the **** however with a lot of extensions and tooking away of stuff I think its look pretty clean considering.

The shear amount of cables being placed behind the lower rad meant I had to get rid of the front USB IO so I'm waiting on Caselabs to send me a new front plate to cover up the holes left.

Last thing really is the coolant colour, I'm a bit undecided on the current colour and don't know whether to go with red instead to add some contrast? what do you guys think?

I will upload some better shots soon once I've recovered how much the damn fittings all cost me :D, but for now here are a couple...

That's my on going conundrum. I'm going to try white again now I have the 16mm tubing. I wanted white originally but it was lost in my build hence the red.

I think yours looks great with the white to be honest. Why don't you photoshop it see what you think?

Using photoshop may help indeed - I'll have a play and see.

any idea why overclockers don't sell caselabs?

I did ask OCUK over a year ago about stocking them however I think once they've added their costs onto the product they become really high. Altogether and after tax I paid £350ish and it was easy just to go direct.

Hey,

I thought I'd do a few posts as I upgrade to X99 and give the whole case and cooling a good clean with a few other bits thrown in as well.

New bits going in will be:

5930K
Rampage V
32GB Avexir ROG Tesla
950 Pro 256GB
Some new SSD's
Plus other bits and bobs :)

More to follow:

Well, its taking longer than I wanted but its slowly getting there. Will upload more photos once all the cable management and other bits are sorted - probably the weekend.

Little peak for now...

Finally coming back to sorting this build out over the next few weeks. I had to rush and I ended up with a result I just wan't happy with.

With the 1080 coming out I'm using it as an opportunity to get the standard I want.

Few bits came so far...

Singularity res mount which will be replacing the crappy plastic ones that I've currently got. I'm also reworking the res setup so will be even easier to drain.

Replacing all of my Corsair SP fans with Noiseblocker Black Silent Pro's (900RPM). The quality of these fans is really high and the extra braided wires included are great. I may sleeve the wire running to the motor but we'll see how visible it is.

Currently waiting on my EVGA 1080 and block to come - may go SLI straight away so we'll see. Then I need to decide what I'm doing with my tubing and whether to bend the rigid tubing or do straight cuts.
