Since you guys have a prebuilt system that is using caselabs i was wondering if i can get an answer on how much will cost to get a caselabs in uk.
http://www.caselabs-store.com/mercury-s8/
If i cant post the link i will remove it(though not being uk based i think is ok)
After the customization the price including ups shipping is $563 .Do i pay anything else on top of that?
Will be helpful to have an answer from someone who actually got one .
Thank you.

Yes the customs charge is a bit potluck, and by the time you add on any other charges / extras the case is really overpriced.

It is a shame that european market lacks in custom case sellers.I used to live in USA for a few years and options for quality pc cases is vast.

Do you still have friends there, Would it be cheaper to get one of them to buy it for you then ship it over?

I was looking at the Lian Li PC-08 which I really like but even then I would still be wishing I had a CaseLabs.

So I'm going to be purchasing an STH10 in the next 2 weeks and shipping for that works out around £120. I have the best of luck so it will prob get stopped at customs and I would be forced to pay £250 or something stupid for a reason that's insane.

But never the less you get what you pay or and once you purchase your dream CaseLabs case you would not look back.

Have you seen a Caselabs ? they are really no better than Lian Li.
Quite home made looking.

I kept mine 2 weeks and got rid of it, but everyone to thier own :)

You're the only person i have ever seen say this about them.

I looked at a CaseLabs case at the OcUK store.

Looked beautiful.

I would prefer glass to plastic for the window but that's the only fault I could pick at the time.

It's also about the performance and customisability. There is so much more you can do with them cases, more than any other on the market.

There has to be a reason why 8 Pack uses CaseLabs for his premium builds.

Had my S8 and pedestal for 8 months and love it. It's by far the best case available to date and I've owned many of the last 20 years. Yes they are expensive but you really do get what you pay for.
I had to pay the customs charge on two occasions and it's really easy as you can pay Fedex directly over the phone and it was about 8%. Check out http://www.dutycalculator.com/dc/109091-import-duty-rate-for-computer-hardware-is-0/ for more information.

Not sure if this website is correct but it states the following for me:

Importing from: United States
Importing to: United Kingdom (view country guide)

Product description: Pc Case
Product category: Computer Case of aluminium
Product value: US$717.95

Shipping costs: US$180.00
Insurance costs: US$820.00

Total customs value (CIF): £1207.75
This is the amount that customs values your import at
- Duty: £72.46
- VAT: £256.04
Total import duty & taxes due: £328.51

This is the amount that needs to be paid to customs

- Product, shipping & insurance: £1207.75
Total landed cost: £1536.26

Now im not sure if this is accurate but if so. I will not be buying a CaseLabs

The problem is the amount you entered for 'insurance costs' is wrong, you've entered what I presume is the amount the shipment is to be insured for not the amount you will actually pay for that insurance.

I didn't actually add any insurance cost. I added the shipping and cost of the product and it calculated the insurance itself.

I tried it again and cleared some stuff and it seems more accurate, however that still works out at an additional £177.84 for Total import duty & taxes.

This throws the case upto £831.64 which is much more than I was willing to pay (£650). Although I really want a CaseLabs and the case itself is worth it, the £120 shipping and £177 import duty and tax just push it into a price range I can't justify.
