I will be starting a new build hopefully early next week once I have my case.
There will actually be two builds, but in two stages as all the components for my stage 2 build are not currently available.
First a little background information:
I haven't watercooled since my days using mach 2's and Pentium 4's and I thought i was long overdue to do so again as I was getting sick of the heat and noise from high end parts using air cooling.
My choice of case to house the project went back and forth and i was originally going to use a large external radiator(1080). I did really like the corsair 900D, Carbide 540 and the Lian Li PC-D600 series as they seemed to offer great cable management and plenty of room. However I eventually decided on getting a Caselabs TH10A so i could mount everything internally.
Since I was going water I wanted to make sure the build will scale to handle a CPU and quad GPU if I needed for stage 2. This will mean a lot of radiator space and plenty of flow.
Both builds will be making use of the Caselabs TH10A and will be watercooled using dual pumps in series and quad 480mm radiators. I did like the idea of dual loops which may come in stage 2, for now it will be a single loop.
Stage 1 is my tester build and will be based around a Z97/4790K along with 290x's in crossfire. I run a 34UM95 so trifire would be a little overkill for this res.
Stage 2 will be Haswell-E 6 or 8 core depending on overclocking results and will feature 3 GPU's hopefully 20nm.
This is the basic outline of my plan, I will update with more detailed specifications and pictures of the hardware next week once i have all the parts and i am ready to start building.
