After seeing shonk's post about having to cut his meshify2 case to fit his 690 motherboard, what cases have people fitted their 690 boards to without issue?

I bought a corsair 5000d but had to return it due to a scratch so am looking at other options, require good airflow and ability to fit a 360 or 420 radiator.

O11 XL, more expensive but a great case and very good build quality. Plenty of space.
If you don't intend in watercooling your GPU, or going full custom loop, may look a bit empty.
For any mid/high end GPU, on air, I would only suggest cases with bottom intake, just make sure the case have enough floor clearance to allow it to perform.
The regular O11 could perform much better if the case feet were 5-10mm taller.

Been looking at the lian li 011 xl as feel it will be a long term case, currently just got a 360 AIO, however I did think about going custom loop, but as you say things could look a little lost if I don't. Would the midi be a better option if not going full custom loop? If so lifting 10mm should not be too difficult to assist air intake.

The regular O11 is good, and bottom clearance would only be an "issue" with high end GPU, not that it will perform badly, but raising the case few mm will make a noticeable difference, without the need to overcompensate with high rpm fans.
For the O11, same advice, AIO on top, as exhaust, bottom and side as intake. Side don't need to run too fast, just enough to, combined with the bottom fans, create a positive and uniform airflow.
The lack of front intake ins't an issue, as most people believe.
Also, rear exhaust will only add noise.

Thanks for the reply.

One final question is there any difference between the standard case, ROG certified or the Razer edition? I can see there are subtle differences such as a logo on the Razer edition and a little bit of rgb but struggling if there's anything else?

Daughter tells me if I get a new case I have to bling it up a bit.

The only difference is the tinted glass/colour.
At least for the XL, there's an option for a slightly darkened glass and one noticeably darker.
The ROG thing it added a foil-like ROG adhesive to the side glass. It can be easily removed sliding a Stanley blade at angle, against the glass.
The razer, I'm not into much details, bit I believe is similar to the ROG approach.
Between the light and darker glass, personal choice. None will block the RGB, but when the RGB is off, the darker version won't show as much of your system.
Another thing to note, https://www.overclockers.co.uk/clearance/cases?sSort=3&ckTab=0&ckSuppliers=347. I need to confess, I'm kind of hyperactive and change system very often, I was the kind of children who would spend more time taking toys apart to understand how they were made than playing with them, and going with the B-Grade was a good thing. Bought about 3 or 4 O11s before, and none was defective. Was either open box or some minor damage to the box, but all the cases were as new. All had their protective plastic film in place. Also, if anything is damaged, it can be returned. Overvlockers customer service is very, very good.
Yes, I owned a regular O11, one O11 Air (don't bother, horrible filters), O11XL Black, O11 XL White, O11XL Black, them give up on watercooling. :D

I saw the B grade options, but wasn't so sure as didn't want to get something that is potentially marked, but as you say it can be returned.

I've messaged overclockers about the rog, I showed my daughter one with all rgb and she liked it (she is autistic so loves the colours and how it can be made to all change, her question was why hasn't my computer been setup like this before) only issue is the price is right at the top of my budget, well its way over the £110 I'd got set aside for corsair case!

Thanks for your advice and help.

Ordered the Bgrade case - hopefully it comes in good shape.

Thanks for your help and also to overclockers for their B-Grade section!

Matt

P.S. Just need to save up for some RGB to stick in their to make daughter happy - this'll have to wait until after Christmas!

Case arrived in perfect condition, went for Black.

Just need to wait for the Corsair standoffs to arrive and then fit everything.

Once again thanks for all of your help and advice.
