The king of the north!
Hello ladys and gents. Since im working again i decided i would re visit the ole hobby and build a new pc. I currently have a Phantom 820D, however i have always loved the temjin Tj--- series and especially the 11. So unless you guys think it wouldnt be wise i think i will be changing my case to the Temjin-TJ11. I have bought the motherboard and Cpu and a temporary cooler

Msi BigBang xpower II
3970X
NH-D14

the cpu is due to arrive next Saturday (23rd) and can happily provide proof of ownership then as i am aware a few people get time wasted on dreamed up rigs that don't come to light (a shame really because most of them are lush)

i am running a Evga gtx 680FTW+ on this pc at the moment but plan to get dual titans and a new power supply at the beginning of may.

Now for the cooling from looking around i cant find any titan water blocks as of yet. I do want to have the entire rig Cpu and Gpus watercooled and if anyone can enlighten me if i can or cannot remove the silly gun heatsync and watercool in it's place on the big bang that would be great if not i will have to deal with it i guess

If i get the Tj11 i know that i can fit a 5x120MM Rad and dual 2x140MM Rads into it without any real modding and am more than capable of getting that all mounted without much fuss. The part i struggle with is matching up all of the fitting tubing but i can give you a bit of personal preference

1. Money isn't a issue.
2. I would prefer to have compression fittings as i think they look great however if needed to fit into tight angles or other situations im more than happy to have other forms of fittings
3. I would like to have a "dual pump mod kit" i believe they are called (having two pumps running one loop)
4. What Waterblocks would you recomend for the cpu ( i can research the titans when they start to launch)
5. As i have said i would like to be able to remove the silly gun sync on the Bigbang but if it's not a possibility then that's fine

If there is any questions or stuff that you want to ask me then feel free that's about as much as i can think of on top of my head ps here is attached a picture of the components said in this as proof of ownership

There are a few Titan waterblocks kicking about already EK & aqua Computing, there a few more companies that haven't released theirs such as XSPC, Watercool, Koolance, Swiftech and Bitspower.

Fitting wise I would go with these: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-254-BP and for tubing it depends if you want coloured or clear.

Pump wise I would go with dual d5 Varios if you wish to have redundancy but a single one should be able to hand your loop .

Cpu block wise i would go with the XSPC Raystorm, it's pretty high in the best performing blocks, it has a good price and decent build quality.

Motherboard wise you can buy XSPC kit: http://www.xs-pc.com/products/waterblocks/chipset-waterblocks/msi-xpower-ii-waterblock-set/

In the TJ11 you can "only" fit a 120.4 rad in the bottom not 120.5 but I still personally feel there are better cases than the TJ11 like the TJ07 and Corsair 900D.

Ah i must have misinterpreted the 120.5, The reason i chose the case was purely for its looks i think its a stunning case and i have seen a lot of radiator surface area spread around the case so assumed that it would be sufficient for my loop.

Great news for the titan blocks!! hopefully there will be some nickel plexi ones as im not a huge fan of seeing the copper on the block and i don't recall ever seeing it on a nickel plexi one. The two reasons i chose dual pump in one loop was simply incase one broke ( my system is occasionally left untended to do some work and would hate for the pump to break and over heat over a few hours of load, Better safe then sorry huh? &that slight boost of flow.

and you are a absolute STAR +10 on the motherboard bits.

I would be using a Clear tubing

With the Cpu block would you say that was the absolute highest performance block or is there something out there that is hiding in the shadows that can gain me a little more headroom for overclocking

Btw i really appreciate your time and help :)

* Forgot to add

on the fittings, the G1/4" im assuming is the thread going into the block being refered to as 1 quater inch. What im failing to grasp at the moment is the 19/13mm,13/10mm ect ect. Is that the tubing diameter

If im correct on that the logical following would be that the blocks all be G1/4 with ie G1/4 fitting with matching all round for example 19/13MM so the hose fits over them all?

or am i wrong :) sorry this is the part that messes my noggin, although im more then happy to put it together haha

Nickel plexi titan block: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-336-EK
Tubing wise I would recommend XSPC clear https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-125-XS&groupid=962&catid=1530 and pair it with the Bitspower fittings I linked earlier on.

Here is a list on the best performing blocks + tim testing done on a i7-3930K @ 4.8GHz, 1.45VCore, the few degrees will not really allow for you to push the cpu anymore.
Image is too big to post http://i.imgur.com/tZ5LJgl.png

Correct G1/4" is the thread used on the the blocks, the numbers mean the OD & ID of the tubing which needs to exactly match the compression fittings otherwise it will not work .

If that is the only fitting you can think of that will fit the tubing mentioned then il go for that, It's a shame there are no white ones that go 10/16 there's plenty at 16/10 (unless there reversed around, then im saved!) but i don't think they are and none specify OD ID its just tubing diameter so i am assuming it is in order OD ID

Are there any white 10/16 fitting that you know of :) ive been looking around all off the water cooling section and i just cant find any but then again im probably getting jumbled up in all of these numbers :)

Pgi they are indeed nice cases however at the min im a little bit in love with the Tj11 and i think il be ordering one of them along with my waterloop ^^

i have to say im not sure how people link there baskets or i would link what i have together at the moment so here is a printshot

havent worked out exactly how many stop fittings and compression fittings i will need yet :) what do you guys think

Looks good, yeah you can't go wrong wit ha TJ11 either, it would be a really tough call to choose that or the V8.

Remember you'll need to buy fans too :)

Search for BP-DWCPF-CC3V2 , they are some kicking about.

suitable for 1/2? ID and 7/16? but im assuming that the 3/8"ID dipped in some warm/hot water would stretch over that then just a case of making sure it doesn't come out of place
Yeah it would work, just have fun wrestling with it.

I personally would change your fluid as it's stupidly over priced and offers no extra performance. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-014-MH
I still personally prefer cylinder style reservoirs since they normally bleed much easier but that choice is down to you.

I chose the fluid on the basis that i have seen it in action without any coloring as is a naturaly vibrant white and that's exactly what im after, ie the white fittings :D black and white all round. Also sending out some dominator platinum having the metal fin on top stripped down and my online handle engraved on them!

and aye i shal be checking out all the fans out soon :)

Searched for the BP-DWCPF-CC3V2, *droool* there lush :D might actualy do a mixture of them and the black ones

Oh wow they are absolutely gorgeous. I was considering dipping the motherboard water blocks into a carbon fibre wrap thing! and yea i think that once i have had everything tested on air and have all the parts together to get it all watercooled i think il be doing a water cooling conversion build log i just wish i had a better cammera haha!

i love the white on that cpu block aswell the white in the center stands out

Whats your opinion on white fluid

i think its going to look quite nice myself Black board white/black fittings and white coolant

Maby a tiny bit a blue tint from a light somewere

You'll get plenty of blue tint from the motherboard leds ;)

White fluid is nice just make sure everything is clean before filling, I'm going to use sunset yellow, will give a nice contrast against the all black board.

Yeah i was looking at your magnus aqua domus haha! joy of bright blue leds on a black and white build! How do you find the board working for you :) im looking forward to getting it in my rig on weekend! im going to use clear tubing make sure its all clean throughout and i might actually put a tiny bit of a uv color in there and uv light just to give it a bit more spark

and yeah thats another reason i went for the xpower, i don't much like the scheme on the rampage 4 it's a bit to " common " for me really seems everyone and there gran has one now :D

I know what you mean, the red theme around ROG boards has been done to death, great boards though! Wish Asus did a 'black edition' like they did with the Rampage III.

Board has been fine, the only snag I've hit is getting it to play nice with my samsung memory, though I think I need to update the bios, besides that its been fine, 5ghz for 1.48v was easier then it was on my X79 UD7. It has LED's everywhere, though they can be disabled if you wish. Board should be a perfect match for a 3970X.

Ah good to know seing as it's temporarily going to be cooled on a NH-D14 i will be being gentle on the overclock but all i can say it the overclock will depend on temperature for now untill i don't want to push it more on air.

Although it's still going to be a vast improvement over my 955BE

Yeah i love black boards because it goes well with almost every colour

i will deffinately be posting some benchmarks and comparisons on saturday/sunday

And it's going to be a whole new game for me overclocking on x79

My only Overclocking experience has been on a 1366 G1 assassin running a 930 that i got running 4.2Ghz and this Phenom xII 955BE thats at 4Ghz, ive heard x79 is a lot more complex. But for now, il stick to the basics

Ps, untill the 6th next month i will be using some budget samsung ram! What issues did you come across, hopefully i wont need to worry about it but who knows, these things happen

Its more getting the memory to clock up above 2000mhz, it should but I think I have an older v1.5 bios, I'll update once my loop is sorted.

X79 can be more complex to clock with, but you have a fully unlocked CPU so you can play it safe and stay at 100 base with XMP timed memory if you wish :)
