Cases Upgrade

Hi

The Scout is a great case. Good reviews on it.

Most cases that allow the downward fitting of the PSU have breather holes like you do on fan mount points so the hot air can escape and breathe just fine.

I am using the CoolerMaster 690 with the PSU facing down and its fine , not hot at all.

Same case i'm thinking of getting for my new build. Looks fantastic, especially black paint on the inside. The only problem with this case i've come across is the lack of space at the top for an aftermarket cpu cooler. Because of the 140mm exhaust fan on top I dont think it'll fit some to the bigger cpu coolers. Would love to hear from people who have got this case and what cpu coolers they've managed to fit?

But very good case overall.

yeah you guys have all seemed to rave about it! but now the issue of maybe not being able to fit my cpu cooling fan comes up???

It's a very good case. I have my second pc in one and the cooling is excellent. There is a filtered mesh on the bottom for the psu intake so there is no problem with the psu facing down. Cable management is excellent, better in fact than my Lian Li PC-P50B. I have a Zalman CNPS9500 cpu cooler in mine with plenty of room to spare. The roof 140mm fan comes right to the top edge of the motherboard so if your cpu cooler does'nt overhang the mobo you will be ok. Best bit is that i only paid £62 for mine. :D

You cannot fit a 5870 in this case as you have 10.5" between the rear pci slots and the hdd cage at the front. The 5870 is 11" long.
