Cash machine problem. What happens now?

I did this a few years back, machine eats cash and it automatically gets credited back to your account. No forms to fill, no mavvise ammount of time to wait, it was back there within a few days.

Lol I have no idea how anyone could do this. If I was withdrawing 250 quid Id be watching that cash like a hawk then looking over my shoulder for hoodlums! hahaha

As would I.

I simply can't understand how a person can let this happen unless they're a bit 'special'. :(

I wasn't going to but might as well, you deserve it... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha :D :D :D most impressive!

Maybe the guy in the other thread "stole/found" your money?

Seems weird that two threads have popped up, both equating to 250:o

Phone your bank and give them the time/day/location of the cash point. After a set amount of time, the cash machine takes the money back in.

The daily count for the machine should be +£250, they will give it back to you

Unless someone nabbed it

I was behind a woman who left what looked to be 100+ the other day. I'm pretty sure if you leave it the machine credits it back to your account but decided to take it and give it to her instead. She looked half asleep, poor thing.

I can't think of 3 times I've done that in my life, but never more than £50. Reported the occasions to the bank, but all happened in busy areas so I stood no chance of getting it back. Serves me right for being so stupid!

I suppose if all else fails you could somehow ask them to check their security cameras, to see if someone took it after you?

I've often heard of people doing this, never understood how can you actually do it though.

Go to machine to draw out £250, then walk away without it... Blancmange for brains?

"Bit special" does indeed come to mind!

Same sort of thing but working in retail it is simply amazing how many people pay by card and leave it sat in the chip and pin reader.

How could anyone do this?

You walk up, put your card in and wait for 5-10 seconds after you've pressed the buttons for the amount you want, whilst half way through it spits your card back out to remind you that money is on its way.

I even stand there a second or two after I have money if its busy (pretending to act slow) just incase there is a fault and needs to spit my cash out twice (never happened). Either that or I count my money to make sure I have got the correct amount which I wanted.

And yes, people or no people I always throw my wallet over my hand to make sure nobody can see my pin :p

Done this before when drunk at uni. Money was re-creditted to the account straight away according to my online banking.
