cast clear acrylic how expensive!

just got a price for a 1 metre length of 5" cast clear acrylic that im wanting for my project case and its gonna be £350+vat!!

why is it so much more expensive for cast acrylic than extruded?i mean i know how each are made and that with,say aluminium you pay more for a forged part than a cast part due to manufacturing costs ect.

gonna have to re-research my plans now cos my case will cost me best part of £2k to make how i want it

reason i wanted cast clear acrylic was due to it being a far better finish than extruded acrylic

its just the price of cast clear acrylic that i want for it!the cast acrylic clear sheet is only £30+vat per m2 which aint bad but cast acrylic tube is extortionate so im having to find alternative suppliers or materials cos i dont really want the case to cost more than a couple hundred quid for base materials
