Castle/manor house spa hotels - near London. Ideas?

Looking for recommendations for a spa break a 1 hour drive from London or so.

Think huge manor house, gardens and gotta have a pool and spa.

Champneys suck. Well, spas suck mainly but champneys too after they put cream in their peas and poisoned me on the first day. I can think of much more relaxing wastes of money...

Depends what you are after, I tend to find Spa Hotels are more about the hotel and setting and less about the spa (Ragdale Hall being an exception I know of). One hot tub, sauna and steam room a spa does not make imo :p

Something like Aqua Sana which are a dedicated Spa chain have a far greater range of facilities, with a range of different types of saunas and steam rooms. The closest one to London is in Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire.
