Bought it after seeing it on Tabletop. A friend of mine really prefers co-op games so I got this and been playing it the past 2 days.

I think it's really good and worth adding to your collection if you like co-op games.

The game seems fairly well balanced with each game we had running things close to being a result either way. The board, pieces and cards are good quality and everything fits nicely into the box.

Was taking about 30-40 mins per game with 5 to 6 people playing.

Yup, excellent game. The expansion is great too and fits in the original box!

Does the expansion add much to the game?

Quite often they are just a way of trying to extract extra money on the back of a good base game without offering much.

What would you say is good about the expansion?

Addition of the wizard deck - extremely powerful cards, especially when used in the correct combinations! Also new monsters that replace some of the ones from the base version that have restrictions on which spaces they can be killed in/not take damage in.

Add to that the presence of fire from flaming boulders, Chimaera's, dragons and the wizard cards it can get very hectic quickly.

Really makes you consider strategy a lot harder. Wait until you're familiar with the base game and winning regularly however :)

Thanks for the information, does sound good.

We played 7/8 games and have yet to lose one. Closest we came to losing was the very first play threw when we ended with only 1 castle piece left. :)

Sounds like the expansion will add a fair bit so will give it a month or two until we start to get a little bored with it and then add it on.
