Because you wanted it, Konami has consented to make a PC version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

"That's right! Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is coming to PC!" bellowed Lords of Shadow producer Dave Cox on Twitter.

A just-released press release tells us the PC version is being simultaneously developed alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, and all three will be released next year.

"Castlevania: Lords of Shadow successfully rebooted the franchise but now we want to go further and exceed people's expectations on what to expect from the sequel," commented Dave Cox in the press release.

"This new game tells a much broader tale and one that spans centuries. It is a game that pushes whatever format it is on to the absolute limit, and we are delighted that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2's rich blend of first-class fighting, deep exploration and rich storytelling are set to delight and enthral PC users, too.

"There's a darkness coming, and with our new game engine, we hope to deliver something truly special across multiple formats that will set new standards for action adventure games."

Not much is known about Lords of Shadow 2, yet. The game was announced earlier this summer with a fantastic cinematic trailer, and that's about it. Sounds like, from the story synopsis, you'll play as Dracula as and regain your old powers on your quest to rid yourself of your immortal shackles. But plenty will try and stop you.

I just read the links and I apologies :)

However, you have made me a very happy man as I do consider my self, one of the biggest fan of the 2010 Castlevania and my biggest gripe at the moment is having to setup my 360 every time I want to play through the game again haha. I complete it maybe once or twice a year!

Had the game for PS3, played it half way and stopped, it was an really pretty looking game, but it had some really low fps, you could actually tell it was struggling - which on a PS3 isn't always apparent, as the Ps3 always did well of hiding its sub par 720p less then 25fps performance for some games..

shame, sure it'll be superb on PC with the extra muscle PC gives, but it might be a pre order bonus for Steam if you purchase the sequel soon to be released on PC.

Now confirmed Aug 27th. This is a superb God Of War/Shadow Of The Colossus style action game with terrific artwork (Patrick Stewart provides one of the key character voiceovers) well worth buying on PC as the console versions had FPS issues due to how large some of the bosses were & the environments in places are ambitious but superb looking :D

If you have a monster PC trust me this game will stress it to the max!!!!!

Sooooooooo, anyone excited for this?

I have a counter counting down on my phone... Yup, I'm sad.

I'm a little skeptical at how they have pulled away from the first Lords of Shadow and kept it to one environment, which is the town. Going through multiple landscapes made the first one very fun to me.

Not after the producer gave some media interviews a few weeks ago sounds as though Mercury Steam are moving away from the series this seems a little low budget compared to the masterpiece the first game was IMO :( Still not sure PC will make 27th Feb either it should do but for the lack of PC PR I have my doubts right now!

Yea, it feels as though the scale won't be the same size.

I am worried a little, but will no doubt buy on release as I'm a bit of a fanboy lol.
