Hey guys,

I thought I would post this thread as I love this game, almost complete it after owning it for god knows how long (talking many months). I just wondered if anyone else is such a big fan.

I am going to replay the game on the harest difficulty the moment I complete it without hesitation, there is so much to unlock!

Its the greatest game of its type ever made :D Looks very good on X360 probably the best looking X360 game overall. Plenty to do & challenging but not too hard (except the last boss battle is insane even on easy relies on randomness too much for my liking).

360 Reverie DLC was supposed to be out in EU today but not so sure now as US is not getting it today at all on X360 (PS3 US got it last week I think it got released early in error). There is another DLC mission pack called Resurrection due next month sometime.

Pretty much but the way it renders some of the giant bosses is simply breathtaking. The combat is also more RPG than God Of War its not simply a button masher type of game you need to use tactics & certain weapons or you die very quickly.

I would describe its as a cross between Devil May Cry4, God Of War3 & Shadow Of The Colossus. SOC in particular this game steals so many things from its a wonder Sony allowed them to as its in places literally a 1:1 SOC clone (few boss fights only really are very similar if not identical but rendered much better & easy to control).

This game is superb though & very underrated so it only sold just over 1M copies worldwide.

I am not sure on which chapter I am on actually, I only just defeat the little vampire girl and have just done the room with the different colour lenses which can be used to create different colour beams to unlock rooms. Unfortunatly, I didn't think the purple would unlock the door to the end of the chapter, but it did and I missed a room... Yet another reason to go back and replay :D

Not to mention, if I am lucky, I have only got 50% of the magic/health gems so far lol.

Just finished it last week.
At first did not really like it as i love the other castlevania games and this was different in storyline terms.
After seeing the castle for the first time i was hooked and its one of the best games i have played in recent memory(and i have played many)
Cannot wait for the dlc(a 1st for me) because that ending which i will not spoil made my gob hit the floor :)

I actually thought the last boss was one of the easyier ones. Maybe because i had damage showing and that showed me to switch between light and dark magic when either had stopped doing any real damage.

Well, I killed the vampire queen last night... She was the least interesting boss if I am honest.

I am playing on the easiest setting by the way, but only because I truly am a noob at the combat in this game, but I am getting there lol.

I have 4 more chapters to go, I have missed TONS of upgrades and gems... Now I have the... Sod it, game been around a while, now I have the wings, I am going to replay some old chapters and get as many gems as possible.

Anyone know where the health one is on that road right at the start of the game where you ride a hog? Tried a couple of times and could never find it!

I remember this came out roughly at the same time as Enslaved. I was following a post where a discussion was going on about which of the 2 games to get. A few were saying how good Enslaved was and that it was preferred to Castlevania. I rented Enslaved and thought it the biggest pile of ****e I'd played in a while so I kind of forgot about this.

ags your enthusiasm for it has rekindled my interest! I've seen it quite cheap recently so I might just have to go and buy it!
 
Went back to this one last night and will focus on it until I've beaten it through once.

Just beat the giant shadow-bird boss thing. I really forgot just how phenomenal this game looks. The graphics are breathtaking.
 
Oh my god, this game looks amazing :D

I remember seeing it advertised ages back, and I think I mentioned it in a thread. But I forgot about it, and I have to say.... Its gonna be my next purchase along with a console to play it on :p

It looks to have a lot of similar artistic direction to that of Metal Gear, With DMC style in there too. And then the fighting something out of God of war. Yes please!!

Some of the collectables you cannot get on your first playthru & some are well & truly hidden which means you find new rooms you have not even seen before!! Follow this & or this:

Yea, guessed that in the first couple of chapters, annoyed me but now I appreciate the reason, I will need to play through and collect those on the harder play through. Which will at least give me the chance to feel like I am still 'upgrading' as I play it again.

Now I have the wings I assume I have the last of the upgrades.

Well, I completed this over the weekend, truly awsome. Now this game is one of my all time faves... So, when it the sequal out then? Obvious cliff hanger at the end.

I am going to start replaying this on the hardest difficulty and try get all the magic gems.

Really enjoyed this game and possibly the best graphics I have seen on the console.

I NEVER got bored and nothing ever felt like it was repeating which in a game this size is phenomenal. Combat is as deep as you want it to be. After playing this over the span of many months, I was still discovering new combat moves and combinations.

Simply fantastic. 10/10

Dlc is out before any sequel bud
The 1st reverie was due on 360 at end of march but has been delayed :(
Not sure when 2nd dlc is due but its supposed to contain how you end up like you do after the credits in the main game :)
 
Thanks OP for the recommendation! Just finished it: one of the best games I've ever played! :cool: Kept me up late tonight! Completely brilliant. The word 'epic' doesn't do it justice.

Fantastic graphics, sounds, voice-acting, characters, settings, and very satisfying gameplay. Some awesome monsters in this (think werewolves, vampires, demons, witches, beasts, skeletons, ogres, Pan) and some amazing bosses. Some cracking puzzles too.

Better than GoW etc, that I'm certain of. Never seen anything like it: it's like GoW mixed with ICO (titans) and some other amazing games. Graphics are out of this world.

10/10 - I recommend any 360 or PS3 owner should get this. Starts off slow...but blimey does it take off after that.

I played the first couple of chapters, but couldn't get into it.
I assumed I'd enjoy it, because I love god of war and I love Castlevania, but it didn't grab me at all.
Maybe I'll pick it up again one day if it gets better...
