URGH! So bloody difficult! WHY!!!!

I bought the GBA version to play on my GBA SP. It's really cool but my god is it hard! I only got the cart so no manual, but the game explains NOTHING to you, is there anywhere I can grab a pdf of the manual? Only this morning I discovered health potions are in 90% of the flame torches... Yep, that makes sense...

Oh and I discovered how to roll lol. I am a HUGE fan of Castlevania Lords of Shadow and I think it's a crime having not played the original, so I will not quit until I complete this game, but so far, I can't get past about 20 mins in as I die and I have yet to find a save point lol.

Is this the one where you collect the cards? If so check out gamefaqs, as the manual doesn't really tell you a lot about using them.

for me, retro games are A LOT harder than modern games. I used have to memories most if not everything on them, and finish them in one go as there's no save points. They are brutally hard.

I've been watching retro video years and the theory behind why they so hard is simply down to two things. The first is that they was based on arcade machines which are design to kill you as often as possible to get more money from you. The second is that games was short due to limitation of memory to store data on, so to extend game play they made the games extremely hard to extend the games life.

I've been playing strider on the capcom classics vol2 via the ps2, and yes its hard. Games like contra have a rep for being extremely difficult, while games like simons quest have a rep for "being a nintedo power game" as there's no way in god's kitchen you will know what to do unless someone tells you, and there was no internet.
