Cpu Z doesnt seem to want to work properly on my system, it leaves numerous bits out....

I'm running XP64, but it also does it on standard XP. I've checked any possible settings, and nothing i can see would do anything.

Any ideas?

I nearly bought one of those as well:p Ah well, it does for now, even if it wont let things work. Read on Cpu Z about the Asus boards having some performance thing and disabling it, the Gigabyte has the same and its made no different. Maybe my cpu just doesnt want to play ball.

Nope, all the others are fine. As you say, its not important, its just a small thing thats bugging me. Chips does 2.5 at default, but i have to use gigabytes dodgy windows software, so i've taken your advice and got the biostar. It better not be rubbish or i'll break your account;)

Yeah,

there is nothing wrong with your system, its the CPU. This is one of the new SD 3700+ *oems* that overclockers.co.uk are selling right?

If you put a different CPU in everything would be fine, there is just something *weird* about those oem chips. . .

Its an OEM yes, one of those ccbwe things. First time i've ever seen an oem chip do something dodgy though, and i've had enough of them. should have stuck with intel:p

Bah, it works, it overclocks enough, i dont need a 3yr warranty as it'll be gone in 6 months, and i dont need the heatsink:p I would like to know why AMD are doing this though, it makes no sense at all.

this may cause it. i know the SPD tabs go blank in cpuz (for me at least) if i use clockgen to overclock in windows.

try running cpuz before using that software? :)

I've tried that, and still the same thing. I asked about it on the amd forum, and someone said...

Toledo Rev. JH-E6 with an entire Core disabled

So i'll have a look when the chip comes out later.

I've found the problem, cpu z doesnt apparently support that revision of the chip, as its supposedly a dual core cpu with one core disabled.
