Cat 6 flat patch cable - can I use standard RJ45 crimping tools?

Hello,

I am planning on running some CAT6 network cable from my lounge through to my office. I have some normal RJ45 crimping tools but was wondering whether these would be sufficient considering this new cable is flat.

The guys in MAPLINS assured me that it would be ok but also frog marched me from the networking area to the tilll so I thought a second opinion might be a good idea.

Cheers,
Mike

I discovered the hard way that it may not work - the wires inside my flat cables were tiny, too small to actually crimp into the standard RJ45 connectors I have, hopefully you don't find the same as that ruined a good cable :(
