Hey all,

Just recently switched from a 9600gt to a 4770 and I'll occasionally get my desktop going black for a few seconds. Seems to happen when ATT starts, or I change a setting in the CCC. Running the 4770 on a Biostar TA690G motherboard - ATI chipset & WinXP SP3.

Did the usual drivercleaner / sweeper removal of the Nvidia drivers, etc... before I installed Cat 9.5's. Haven't tried updating the motherboards' drivers yet, but might try that next if there's no other suggestions.

Is anyone else experiencing this ( I guess not or the forums would be full of posts about it :) )

When changing something in ATi CCC, like AA or AF settings, upon clicking 'apply' sometimes this makes the screen go black momentarily (like 1 second) but this is normal and nothing to worry about. If its happening as you say from when you start ATi CCC (after boot) then I don't know. I really wouldn't worry though, both nvidia and ati have their own methods and quirks, nothing sounds wrong though. Re: the 9.5, well for me I'm not absolutely certain but I thought cs:s didn't close down as properly as it did before so I've reverted back to 9.4 and all is fine.

Thanks for the replys guys. Just not used to it, having used NVidia cards for so long. At least I know its nothing to be concerned about :)
