Cat C Bike

Could be Italian?:p

I'm so nervous though, never bought a damaged bike before,no mot either, expired 6th July this year,

I thought you had to get it MOT'd after a write off anyway?

Also, does this mean there's going to be a 'wazza's gunna fix it' thread?

Idk,I'll just pick up the bits when I can, seen a headlight and front top fairing already, need a green side fairing and belly pan

I'll still keep my old 98 zx6,just for spare

Does it still have the Dash?

The fluid on the tyre could be anything, but worth checking the forks and wheel are straight at least.
Only one of my forks was slightly bent in the full on smash I had.

Yh the clocks? Those are expensive,I'm lucky where I live, got local suspension place, and Cradley kawasaki

Yeah the clocks, don't really call them that anymore as they are usually a computer dash with nothing that resembles a clock :D

But yeah they can be pretty expensive.

Looks like it needs a new exhaust and a tail tidy then good to go :p

Semi naked sports bike from the first picture :D

Is the front wheel pretty close to the bellypan? Or is that just the pic.

cat c = frame damage. this can vary from scratched frame/fork or swingarm to knackered frame.

Be wary and ask to see the cat C report. ALWAYS HPI check it.

My last bike was Cat C - resprayed it myself and polished wheels... got back twice what I paid for it when I wrote it off 6 months later..

yh its a chip off the paint on the wheel, they have marked it with a white marker so it stands out

belly pan is sagging a little on one side I think, doesnt looklike the wheel has been pushed in to me though idk till I can look it all over

what you mean cat c = frame damage?

and no not sold the 10 yet but ive got to,ill lower price

EDIT: just looked up cat c,says structural damage idk if that's frame or fairings ect

Structural = frame/forks/swingarm/engine.

Wheels, fairing, bars etc can all be bolted on so it's not those. It's where the item as are bolted to.

Technically this can include swingarms and forks/yokes in my eyes as they are an easy fix but I think in insurance terms damage to these items can result in a bent frame so makes it structural.

I *think*!
Fairings/mirrors/indicators would be a Cat D - cosmetic.

I don't mind forks, aslong as the frame is ok

cant see any damage to the frame from the pics, ill ask em if they have the cat c report

usually stolen/recovered come under cat d aswell
