CAT C/ CAT D

i believe normally cat c/d vehicles will be given a check by VOSA/DVLA to make sure thye road worthy with the repairs made to the vehicle so their should be documentation advising the check was carried out

Not true, the DVLA simply check the VIN numbers to ensure the car has not been ringed, they perform no checks on the quality of repairs.

It matters because the guy ripped me off.

Realisticly a £500 car isn't going to be worth much less if it's in good condition with an MOT irrespective of history. If you'd just spanked 30k on something I think you'd have something to complain about. Did you specifically ask the seller if it was on the HPI register?

Originally I brought a 405 from a trader near totnes. A week later HGF. Took it back and the guy swapped it for a Honda concerto. I didnt really want the car but that was all I got offered. When I recieved the logbook (today) I realise it was a CAT C and feel a bit peeved that he didnt tell me.
