Cat Fleas - how to get rid?

My arms are covered and they have come from next doors cat who has adopted me so for the last four days I haven't had her in my house or had cuddles which to be honest is upsetting me.
I will need to approach her Daddy and I don't mind paying because I get a lot of comfort out of this bundle of fur.

So OCUK, what's the best remedy for getting rid of her fleas which doesn't consist of not seeing her again, fire and other wacky ideas?

Vacuuming the house everyday.
Washing and treating the cat.
Washing cats bedding everyday, and wherever the cat naps
You can also use flea bombs in the house.

We use a monthly spot treatment of stronghold plus from the vets, just put the liquid on back of neck, job done.

The most effective way is to take it to the vets (you might be able to get a home visit) and get a prescription flea treatment, e.g., Bravecto. All the off the shelf ones e.g., Frontline and Advantage seem to have low effectiveness nowadays as fleas have become resistant. Bravecto only needs to be applied every three months too which make it easier.

For flea treating your house I think the best option is Indorex - https://www.direct4pet.co.uk/products/indorex-defense-spray-500ml but you have to spray the whole house and vaccum every day for a week or something after.

Oh also, if you do get a prescription, you can then just buy it online (you need to scan / upload the prescription). My vet recommended I do that as it's quite a bit cheaper than buying from the vet.

Why are you allowing next doors cat into your house anyway!? At our last house our neighbour kept buying tuna for our cat until I told them to, politely, get their own cat if they want to feed one.

Seeing as it's not your cat you can't really treat it but for our cat and dog we use Advantage which keeps fleas nicely away

Me and her Dad have an understanding and I look after her when they go on holiday.
We have also agreed on what I can give her to eat and I don't overstep that.

If your convinced its the cat then ask the owner if the cat has flea treatment and what type if they say it has
You can get flea strains that get temporary immunity to certain treatments, but others exist

If its not been treated then you want something that also deals with the early stages as it sounds like they could be heavily infested.
This is on offer and its what I would go with.

The prevention of flea eggs will help as you will already have some but it stops more. As the ones you have trigger the infestation will drop.
Flea eggs can lay dormant for a long time and if shes infested and at yours a lot they will have been dropped.

It will be all inside his house, spray Indorex liberally in every room when the cat is not in the house.

Advantage is imdacloroprid which works better than Fipronil in my experience.

Have to go scorched earth or they will keep coming back.
