Yer nan's knickers
Seems to be fairly harmless. Can't see myself buying anything that's anything cat recorded but my curiosity is piqued. Cat N is apparently cosmetic damage only, but how does the insurance reflect this? Can you restore a Cat N to get the record clean again? My Google Fu is failing me a bit (and I'm a bit short on time).

CAT N is "non structural" damage, not necessarily only cosmetic. I don't believe the markers can be removed.

Ah cool, thanks. I've seen a few Cat N bikes that would make great little projects for the summer but wasn't sure if it'd be worth it. Might dig a bit deeper. Thanks :)

cat n/s is the new cat c/d so same rules applies, just the rules behind it have changed. the cat cant be wiped off the record once repaired

Out of interest, what kind of damage would be non-structural but more than cosmetic?
It’s been a while since I read the documents regarding CAT A B S N but I believe it gave examples such as steering components, etc.

I think the “structural” bit relates to the integrity and geometry of the chassis/monocoque, and not replacible bolt-on parts.
