Sorry for the sad post chaps but does anyone want to take a cat into their home in the Nottingham area ?

He's not one of ours but one of our neighbours who has just had a little baby and Jinx isn't accepting the baby at all. Spraying and wailing etc etc. I know in time it would settle down but they are sure this is what they want to do. Its not my place to tell them they should persist but I do want to help them re home the little fella

Neighbour has called round several rescue home but they are all full and the RSPCA have told him they will only hold him for 7 days before destroying him. Obviously they don't want to go down that route but need something resolving soon.

So OCUK I turn to you to see if you or anyone you know is looking for a cat right now.

its not a picture of him but hes like this

That's sad. Don't live in Nottingham and already have two little gingers. But as much as I love my cats to bits, if they reacted in that way then my baby would absolutely have to come first. It may be very, very rare, but I wouldn't want to risk my baby getting clawed or anything.

Weve got two ourselves and cant take him in. We would but Jinx and Murray (our ginger) have a mutual dislike to each other.

Not far away in Leics - I've asked a girl I used to work with as she has loads of cats and regularly helps people rehome unwanted ones. I'll let you know.

When i was little, my old man told me my cat at the time lived till he was 19, jumped into my cot. My dad hit the cat and it never did it again. That was the only time it posed a danger as it could potentially sufficate a baby.

I already have a cat, when we got a pug that was a huge transition the cat had to make but eventually he was fine.

I wish I could take him in but we've taken in our neighbours two cats (1 officially) but the other lives round here all the time (they bought a big dog ) plus we have our two cats as well.

Why can't you home him?

I know how hard this is. I rehomed one of my dogs into a resuce (non kill) when my daughter was born. Not because he was agressive, far from it, but he was very bouncy and in your face and a bit of a risk. The other dog is more passive and never paid much interest (and now she is 2 lets her cuddle him, pull his ears, sit on him etc without flinching!). Broke my heart. It was more the (ex) Missus who insisted on it, but I accepted the point of view and went with it. Sometimes you just have to go with what you know is right when it comes to kids - You just cant take the risk - Especially with cats - Eye / Face scratching could mean very long term damage :(

I hate cats and am also allergic to them, so I cant help sorry!

Seriously, if you can you should mate :)

You potentially have the power to decide whether an animal lives or dies.

I'd love a cat in all seriousness, but I'm living in a mates house while he's abroad for a few months, and then it will probably be rented accomodation after that.

Honestly wish I could.
