Cat on keyboard/batting screen!

Anyone else have issues with your cat trying to bat your monitor screen, especially chasing the mouse? Any ideas on how to keep them at bay without just whacking them away time after time or locking in a different room?

I don't have this problem even though mine are fascinated by the mouse pointer and do go for it if sitting on the computer desk. Solution: don't make a big deal of the computer desk and make your lap the more attractive option. :3

Red laser pointer, they never tire of chasing that red dot down. Even more fun when you confuse local neighbourhood cats with it too. Just be careful that you don't tease a neighbour's cat with it so much that it decides to knock a rather expensive statue from the windowsill in pursuit of the elusive, moving red dot.

Get rid of cat, local kebab house is a good suggestion or if you watch Mid-Morning Matters, Cats - Hammers.

More energetic playtime is the only solution, from your cat's perspective.

Tire him/her out, followed by treats, put snuggle bed close to your PC so he/she can sleep near you (mine will follow me around the house so there are comfy cat beds in every room I spend time in )
