Hi,

I've had some cat6a put behind a wall and would like to have a go at wiring this up.

Can someone give me a checklist of what I need? I'm a bit clueless :(

Thank you WJA96. Nope, like an idiot I didn't even look for the sticky but lesson learnt - will have a read of that too but I'm starting to think it'd be safer to get someone in to do this as I don't have enough cable to make many mistakes :(

I purchased all the tools (including the cable tester) you recommended and had a go tonight and have a working test cable! It's significantly shorter than it was and pretty messy at both ends but it works! Thanks WJA96 :)

I found the hardest part (by far) was trying to get the cables in to the tiny little cable guide holder in the correct order. There must be an easier way!? I did find cutting the cables at an angle helped a bit.

The next step is to get the cables around the house in to some wall sockets. Can I use standard RJ45 wall sockets with CAT6A?
