Cataclysm Patch - From Mac to PC?

Basically I bought and downloaded the game clients from the battle.net website so I could start playing again (this is on my imac) but want to also install the game on my PC as I'll then use my iMac screen as the monitor when i get round to it. Due to this, can I transfer the patch information between the imac and the PC (windows 7) to save me downloading around 8gb of data?

I've got a wotlk disk which has been fully installed on the PC so its just literally the 3.xx patch to 4.xx patch data I need.

Ideas?

according to the wow US forums mac support area, its possible to do it the other way round (pc to mac obviously) but you need to build the entire wow folder manually, which isnt too much of a chore tbh. I might have a go later and do the reverse and see if its possible lol
