Cataclysm Preorder

Bit of background:
A few months back I preordered Cataclysm on a certain forestry website at a very nicely reduced price. Since the Cata release date has been announced now they sent me a lovely email stating my game would arrive 1-2 days AFTER that date. Now I have no previous experience preordering items with them so I was a little disappointed.

So my basic question is, if I dont mind paying full price for the expansion for a guaranteed delivery the day before release, what would I do? (This is without leaving my house btw :p)
 
Some places will do release day or earlier deliveries, but i dont think we can name them.

I'm pretty sure Cataclysm is going to be available as a digital download this time, that might be your best bet.

Yeah, brave the server loads. You'll probably get it finished within a week of release. Probably :p

If its anything like SC2 you'll be able to pre download the game.

i'm sure if theres problems you'll be able to download from other sources also
 
You shouldn't need to install the game as you're client will be ready for cata?

edit: Provided you have downloaded 4.0.1 and 4.0.3 by that time.
 
I've always gone down to my local tescos and bought it at midnight. It's kinda fun being in a 100 long queue with nerds and everyone looking at us
 
Hmm yknow I hadnt thought about digital download. I got put off that by SC2 being £10 more then in shops.
 
Unless you're serious hardcore about levelling quickly - getting the same a day or two late won't be any problems.

The servers are going to be so jampacked, that you might not even be able to log in, and then you get the usual 1000 people all fighting over the same 5 quest mobs.

Ah WotLK release, how joyful that was.

Screams desperation lol. Really there is no way to guarantee you get the game before and tbh why would you want it even a week early ? Your still going to have to wait for everyone to level to your level to do anything anyways. Best bet imo is to pick it up at midnight launch. If your desperate to play at least your guaranteed to have the game unlike the royal fail which is about as consistent as me in the bedroom :P

Is it possible to pull a few strings and get it shipped to people before day of launch? If servers go up at midnight, and people dont recieve their copy till say 10am next day, it's gonna suck :( If we could get it a day earlier, then it would definitely secure some more orders!

It's not like you'd be breaking any rules mailing it out early, many companies do it, and you cannot play it online till Blizzard says so anyway! :cool:

Did you select the free, super saver 3-5 day shipping option? :p
 
Just buy it in person at midnight and when the game from the internet arrives take it back to the store and say you got it as a gift and you don't want it.
