Catalyst 10.2 and 10.3 new features discussed on Tweaktown

Actually its fairly likely that crossfire profiles will include per game profiles, because theres fixes for new games that are required for single card situations aswell as crossfire, and this would likely include those aswell.

LIkewise it doesn't say there won't be performance increases or bug fixes as per usual, there probably will be, which would normally benefit everyone to a degree. Its just that those aren't "features" exactly, just improvements. The article is simply covering the new features being added.

It's great that they're improving things for Crossfire users but I'd rather they'd follow nVidia's lead and allow fully user-customisable game presets. It would be nice if they'd completely redesign the interface of the Catalyst Control Center as well, as currently it's hideous and unintuitive.

Nice features. Btw tom's in a similar article posted today was saying that the 10.2 are out on the 17th which is today. Any info on that?

I'm trying to find out which drivers work best for my 5970 but at the mo i'm been told by AMD/Ati to go for the 8.681.0.0 beta drivers. Any idea's if there is better out? Or should I wait for these ^

I switched from 10.1 to 10.2beta because 10.1 wouldnt put my screen into powersave, just got a black screen with the backlight clearly still on. Not the best welcome back to ATi from Nvidia :P... At least the beta works, but I do hope that ATi's drivers are not still as bad as they were back when the Radeon 9800 was king :P

Hope the 10.2's are all they are being cracked up to be as the 10.1's were useless for me so I have used been using the 9.12's which do work very well. Some more crossfire performance is never a bad thing :)

Hopefully so, it almost sounds like the 10.2s and 9.12 hotfix were a slightly different programming branch to the 9.12 and 10.1, so theoretically these 10.2s are improved 9.12 hotfix.

We shall see on release though, hopefully 10.2/3 will consign GSOD/Lines to the past.

No driver can or will ever be 100% though :)
