Right, after spouting off in the other thread, I saw these became available at last.

Did a quick install of the Video Driver only, and it works just fine :D I'd be interested to hear if everyone else with this problem gets the same successful installation as I have.

So, anyone pending the 6.12 driver before purchasing, you should be just fine now.

these drivers allowed me to install the card ok , but yet i am still having probs
i mostly play WOW and my monitor is WS so i play 1440 x 900 , however this option is now now available with this card/drivers, but even the other options that are available above 1024 x 68 when selected just revert back to 1024 x 768
so i tried COD2 a game i used to play,,and with my 6600gt in DX7 i was getting 125fps constant,, and about 40-60 with XD9 , so i tried it with my new card and dx7 still gives 125fps about ,, but dx9 gives between 1-10 FPS ,, something not rights there.... all at 1024 x 768..
i was also forced to use the secondary out put from the card , which took 2 monitors to set it up, as the primary display port worked but was/ is dark

It's a strange one this...but I have to be grateful for "working" drivers so soon after receiving the card (2 days), while some have been waiting since November...I bet they'll be considerably disappointed with this release.

So, My sapphire x1950xt arrives today.

Should I install the drivers from the CD or should I install the 6.12s that I d/l today ?

I've always had problems with ATI drivers, it's either getting the ******* things to install or compatibility... the past 5 years I've had an ATI card, and I think I've had one maybe two smooth driver upgrades.. And each time I say to myself "next time I'll go nVidia" but ATI usually has had better price-to-performance when I come to upgrade.

i'm still not decided as to whether I should RMA this card and get another one, or just stick with it. Connect3D said they are unaware of any problems and tested the drivers up to 6.11 thus, it might be wise for me to RMA it.

Thoughts?

Then it's something you're doing wrong - I never normally have problems :)

Yeah I thought that too. Two problems I seemed to get every time would either be the control center gave errors when I opened it, or during install it would say something like "try reverting back to standard VGA drivers first" even though I had completely erradicated any trace of the old ATI drivers  I just can't recall having a pleasant experience upgrading drivers with ATI, whereas with nVidea it just seemed to work with no problems...

My card has been fine with standard drivers with cd and the 6.12's aswell.

It appears some people are getting different drivers with their CD's. I got a botched set of 6.10 drivers while someone I spoke to on OCC said they got theirs with some botched 6.11 drivers instead...he's going to send me his 6.11 set and I am going to play with those.

CCC is crap.

Download the 6.12s drivers and using ATi Tray Tools, never had a problem.

No problems here, this 1900XT is my first ATI card, ok CCC is a bit bloated, but no stability or compatibility problems.

The Omega drivers are a fair bit behind though, just 6.9 :(

Still on 6.9's here, im just waiting for the EATM to be added, i can't see the point in wasting my time updating every month for a plus or minus in 3D Marks, oh look lost about 10 points boooo, oh look ive gained 15 yay, what a waste of time. :D

About time they added support for the x1950 XT though. :)
