Catalyst 7.12 Drivers - OUT!

Well i ran it via two methods.

a) in Vista which gives you access to Very High even if running in Dx9 mode via the benchmark tool.

b) in XP using the moddified config file to give access to very high.

PS: XP was about 5fps lower than Vista.

odd that xp was 5fps lower, just tried 1280x1024 very high in vista 64 dx9 and I got 37fps average with my rig so I would have expected 42 in xp, 2 3870's seem really good, 56fps is awwwsome.

My guess is that the modded config file in xp is not quite the same as the vista settings. The only other difference is that my vista is 64 bit so uses the full 4gb system ram where as xp is only 32 bit so ram limited.

Normally though XP is faster in most everything.

vista crossfire drivers are very good in general.

might finally install crysis now full crossfire support is available.

7.12 finaly allows me to use latest cats on my nForce2 machine with agp x800 machine. finaly agp support is back. now to test if the vista driver works. havent usable vista performance with nforce2 + x800 yet.

Cant be ram limiting since I have 4GB also.

Its because very high in DX9 mode in Vista is identical to high.

Can someone tell me if they have fixed 1:1 image scaling with this release, its the only thing stopping me from getting a 3850.

Thanks
