Catalyst 7.6 Out Now!

I uninstalled just to be safe... Don't like having older versions lieing around my system!

Well these gave me a nice little boost in 06, same settings and at stock speeds on the 7.5s I got 11450ish, with the 7.6s, I got 11580ish! Also increased my FPS in CSS a bit in the flyby.

Edit: Looks like my only bug has been fixed too! :D The webpages that normally caused VPU Recover to kick in when using Opera no longer do it! :D

Ok what the hell, I went from 6,334 to 5,255 going from 7.5 to 7.6 and I only ran 3D mark '06 yesterday with the 7.5s after a fresh reinstall on Windows :eek: It also reckons that my GFX card was only clocked @ 499 MHz / 594 MHz yesterday (2D clocks I assume) but it's @ 648 MHz / 774 MHz today?

EDIT: Just ran it again with GFX card at stock speeds and scored 6,140, still doesn't explain the previous run though.

use driver cleaner, not best to over write them, u will see problems and no increase in performance otherwise :)

I did several times before my runs. Somethings up with this PC still, I just inserted the Condemned disk and the installer windows that came up said "this page cannot be displayed" !?! :rolleyes:
 
Is it worth going from a X1950pro 256mb to a X2900XT 512mb now the drivers are starting to be getting better?

I have Samsung SM-226BW 22" Widescreen LCD and play all my games at 1680x1050 and i'm starting to see a little performance drop in some of the latest games at this res.

I was thinking of the gts 640mb card but I have no experiance with Nvidia at all and was a little unsure what to do.

its only the next one up from yours, its not worth £300

if u really want an upgrade, get your RAM upto 4Gb and run Vista

what would be the point in that?

He would see vast performance gains with the 2900xt over a bit more ram and a slower/buggier operating system.
