Some intresting stuff there! GPU Image Scaling, CrossfireX, AA support for all Unreal 3.0 engine games, new Super AA and Edge Detect filters.

Sounds like its going to be a good update!!!

Wow as an NVIDIA fanboy I am jealous! I might have to actually read some reviews of the lastest ATI cards.

Crossfire and multiple monitors!! What was ophing NVIDIA might one day release.

GTX is first Nvidia card I've ever owned, all ATI before xmas, well impressed with ATI at the mo, their drivers updates are excellent, think theres even more to come from the X2 yet even without crossfire setup

lol... i look at this and my antivirus just updated . anyways, i'm glad... it's cos of things like this that i stuck with ATI... if only i'd had the sense to stick with AMD ...

Looks to be a nice update. What i would like to see ati implement in their drivers is a crossfire load balance indicator like what nvidia have for sli.

Ati's method is pretty dumb, essentially a litle guage in the control center which obviously helps in no way when you;re running a full screen 3d game. On screen in game indicator would be so much better and most likely wouldn't require much time to implement.

Same for me, I've just ordered a 3870X2. I may get another in a few months depending on how things pan out. ATi is looking extremely good at the moment to me, their drivers are top notch

Gotta love ATI, one of the reasons why Im back with ATI also there extended desktop/CloneView and theatre mode is 2nd to none I can at least enjoy my movies on the big screen without issue or hassle and the Avivo technology really does kick in and work well and surpasses my 8800GTX in every way in fact Nvidia have bodged and disabeled Theatre mode and left half the features out

ATI remain commited to delivering features and performance with every driver release and Nvidia dont in my case.

All nvidia seem content to release (leak) is betas. For nvidia to be a larger company why can't they get a whql driver out each month?

My Saphire HD 3870X2 is being delivered tomorrow

question, is Crossfire X the same as Crossfire, as I have a PCI-e 2.0 mobo and Crossfire support, have they just renamed it ?
Or will I need to upgrade to a new mobo for Crossfire X to do 2 x 3870X2 ?

I'm actually mulling over selling/trading my GTX for a 3870X2 now, I'd have to give it more thought and pour over some benchmarks and reviews though before I decide on anything final. Nvidia drivers at the moment are simply a shambles for me, and while the hardware offers excellent performance I've had 8800s for dead on a year now and I am bored and want something new to play with.

Well I sold it to a mate but then I bought a HTPC case. I soon realised I needed a dual slot solution with a horizontal case instead of a tall one, as heat build-up seems to be much more of an issue.

I basically let him have my GT instead for less money, he wasn't complaining.

Do you have any thoughts on what the benefits of going GTX ~> X2 might be, even if only to cure boredom?

Oh well that's just settled it then, 3870XT's soon or a 3870X2 whatever makes more financial sense at the time.
