Catalyst 9.3 Win 7 article

HI Guys,

went from Catalyst 9.1 to these and it has completely busted ETW for me - constant flashing screen and weird thing where the city names remain static when i scroll across the map.

what are ATI playing at? seems that they are not too good at making drivers...

Did you install it over the top? Worth removing it and installing again if so.

Hmm not so good for me. Crysis crashes if I change any setting and BF2 just exits randomly

nope removed driver, resarted, installed, restarted then tested on ETW and GTA IV and the performance was definately a downward step (with ETW almost unplayable)

UT3 and TF2 now is unplayable at parts and microstutters was fine on 9.2's what have you DONE AMD

grrr.... My X1950 is now considered legacy hardware

Otherwise looks like W7 could be off to a smooth start if other manufacturers follow ATIs lead and get final drivers out the door before the OS is even on general release.

Assuming the above complaints are the exception and not the rule.

9.3's Win7 x64 work flawlessly here, not that it helps a jot sadly

I'm having about zero problems with the 9.2's at the moment so I will stick with these for now

TF2 now is unplayable at parts

crazy.. I just had a jot on TF2 with the 9.3's, and it was smooth as silk..

I agree something isn't 100%
I played BF on my usual server for 2hrs tonight, and everything felt like it was on steroids. They've definitely smoothed out some of the odd stutters (I've always seen these as a fact of life really), but it didn't feel 'right'

can anyone confirm if opengl works now under w7? its what put me off using it as my opengl games had a constant flicker and low framerate and i couldnt be bothered dual booting especially when i usually have a 'proper' thing running in the background such as encoding etc
