Catalyst Control Center - Install error!

Hi, OcUK.

My friend's having a lot of trouble with updating the CCC, he's updating to version 11.2 but previously un-installed 10.2 first (May be 10.2 or 10.12, not sure). After the installation is complete he gets an error: "Installation complete (errors occured while installing) view "view log" to see errors"

When he clicks to view the log, it will not respond. He has tried everything, deleting all ATI files from his PC and re-installing but to no avail. Even when he uses the uninstall wizard to remove CCC and the drivers, it gives him the same exact error.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

System:
Windows 7
ATI Radeon HD 5870

System Restore back to 10.2 & then install 11.2 over the top, do not un-install 10.2 first.

Thanks for the reply, he says he hasn't set a system restore point. Any other ideas?

He didn't say it was & it should never be unless that person has alternative recovery system.

has he got kaspersky by any chance seems to block some drivers

I get errors too but in my case its the ha audio drivers that fail to install - probably because I already have the realtek version of the drivers installed.
