I've just swapped my aging 8800GTX for a HD5770 Vapor-X and am having some trouble with the control centre compared to the nvidia equivalent I was using before.

First of all it's not giving me the option of selecting 24hz and secondly when I swap back from the tv to the monitor the screen resolution has changed to 1920 x 1080 rather than the 1920 x 1200 it was set at.

Any help appreciated.

I'm using a dvi to hdmi cable for the tv (I'd use hdmi but I haven't got a cable long enough yet) and displayport for the monitor.

I did find the configure menu and did add 1920x1080@24 but in the main menu I'm still only getting 50hz and 60hz.

Right I wheeled the pc case around and attached an hdmi cable and suddenly the display on the monitor went strange, I ended up re-installing the drivers then I realised that the problem was the resolution on the monitor which had changed to 640x480.

I'm a bit reluctant to try the hdmi cable again.

Yeah I want 24hz for blu-rays.

Speaking of overscan I did have to move the slider in the configure menu all the way across to the overscan side before it filled the screen on the tv.
