hi,

i updated my catalyst driver last night from 11.5 to 11.6, switched my pc on this morning and after about 5 seconds upon loading my desktop the screen turns to these blue vertical bars?

unfortunately i have switched off restore point so im trying to uninstall 11.6 but it wont let me, keeps saying unable to load detection drivers, the same happens when i try to install 11.5.

any ideas? cheers

I'd reinstall Windows personally, but I guess you could boot into safe mode, delete all the ATI files you can find, then run driversweeper on it, then CCleaner, probably a registry cleaner for good measure, then reinstall 10.6.

You did uninstall 10.5 first right? And turned off any overclocking? (I've been told many times over the years by people on here that you don't need to do either, but I've had problems 3 times now related to installing straight over the top without turning off my OC).
