I tried updating the Drivers from 11-3 to 11-7, basically on the unistall part of the old drivers something went worng and the program closed. Now whenever I run the Catalyst driver setup (and choose install or uninstall) I get the following message :

CATALYST Install Manager has stopped Working - and I have to close the program.

The drivers still seem to be installed as the machine is working but I don't have the Catalyst control panel.

Also I looked in the uninstall software from the Windows control panal and there's nothing ATI related in there to uninstall that way.

Is there anything I can do to sort this out without having to re-install windows? otherwise I'm stuck with the old drivers and no control.

I'm using Windows 7 - 64 home premium.

Thanks

Jase

Uninstall CCC, if there's any of it left. Run driver sweeper to get rid of all the ATI/AMD drivers, it's free.

Reboot. Reinstall.

Thanks for the reply Emphacy, I tried that and driver sweeper seemed to do a good job of removing the old drivers. I rebooted machine and tried installing the drivers again but still have the same problem with "CATALYST Install Manager has stopped Working" so could not re-install them.

For the moment I had to go to device manager and manually update drivers but doing it that way I dont get the catalyst stuff.

So anymore help appreciate :)

Thanks again, I downloaded the KB961894 – VC++ Post 2005 SP1 Redistributable and installed that and tried again. This time it worked and completed the installation!

Cheers
