Hi All,

Attempted to install the new Omegas last night on Win 7 64bit. Used AMD un-installer, then DDU to remove the dregs in safe mode!
When I attempt to install the drivers I get a dialog box popping up telling me two kernel drivers, display and HDMI audio, are not digitally signed (Program Compatibility Assistant) it informs me they have to be signed, and it can not continue! WTF? I have never experienced this before, I was also getting a watermark in the bottom RH corner, informing me the OS is in "Test Mode"
The only way to get the new Cats running is to hit F8 on boot up, and select "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" from the boot menu. This is then good for that particular session.
I have rolled back to the point just before I attempted to install these 14.12 drivers, with System Restore until I figure this out! I thought the 14.12's were WHQL certified?
Any ideas? :(

Why do people do this. Drivers are generally pretty painless.

Just run the catalyst express uninstall, reboot, delete the AMD/ATI folders in program files and then reinstall the new drivers, followed by a reboot.

No need for third party uninstallers etc...

I don't even do that (uninstall). I just go to custom install, make sure everything is ticked and install. Never had driver issues.

Hey guys, thanks for your input and two cents, very interesting!
Anyway the root cause is not how drivers are installed/uninstalled but a Windows Root Certificate Update (KB3004394) which came down also last night as part of Windows 7 x64 Updates! More info on the problems here including the problems experienced with installing the new Omega drivers! ;)
Hope this helps others resolve the problem! Microsoft's problem not AMD's!

Rarely by not uninstalling you can can get mismatch between the driver and the catalyst version e.g. package version says it is updated, but the actual driver version is still whatever you had previously.

Has happened to me a couple of times in the past.

See that post in the main AMD driver thread.

I always install over the top with AMD drivers, never had an issue. Last NVIDIA card I had was a 8800GT, so thats many years of driver installations :P

This really.

Always just done normal uninstall, reboot, remove AMD folder, install new driver...that's it! Never had a problem for me using this method.

Yea i always use this method. I tried to install over the top a few years back after hearing people say it was better. Had issues straight away and went back to my usual method and never looked back.
