Catalyst Omega Woes

Yea i always use this method. I tried to install over the top a few years back after hearing people say it was better. Had issues straight away and went back to my usual method and never looked back.
Yea. I once tried the install over approach, and (I think) ended-up with the issue of the CCC not having the new options/features there are suppose to come with the new driver release.

I have to use ddu aswell,it greys out the custom res creator if I install over the top:( and I need my custom res god damn it!! so sort it out amd:p

AMD Gaming Evolved is not bundled with it? last time i had an AMD card it was part of there driver package. i cant ever download the bloody thing ever.

is anyone having problem the new drivers and the Gaming Evolved app?

It was included when I downloaded it fwiw.

Package contains the following graphics drivers and dependent/required software for the products specified in the current version's official release notes for the 64 bit version of Windows 7:

Display Driver ver. 14.501.1003
OpenCL(tm) Driver
Catalyst Control Center
HydraVision

its not packaged in the download

I must have received a rogue download package in that case :D

ED:
I just ran the installer package again, and this is what it shows.

Ah, just realised you're on Win7. Perhaps that's why.

did you uninstall first or install straight over top like everyone else? as obviously if it was already there it would still show up

With regard to AMD drivers, I used to always install the new driver over the old one, but iirc, there is something left over in the registry, so now I tend to uninstall the old one first. No problems thus far since beginning this procedure.

easiest way i found was to download the driver disconnect from the net so windows cant auto install from Win update go into safemode delete driver from device manager reboot back into normal mode and the install fresh and drivers. found this to be the best way to do it and i havent had a problem with Omega yet

I used DDU and did the same, well apart from disconnect the internet lol
not sure why I decided to do it that way I normally just install over the top but all went smooth anyway
