Catalyst Will Not Install

Hi

I am trying to install Catalyst and every time I press install it just closes and nothing happens, so far I have tried three different versions (9.12, 9.12+hotfix and 10.1). I have even tried the recommend ones of my manufactures site and that happens the same. OS is Windows 7 64bit

Tried installing as administrator? Have you cleared out all other drivers before installing? And are you sure you've downloaded the 64 bit drivers?

Running Nod32, and yes to all the above questions after a modified post by I Love Boys

unsure with that but try pausing protection and then try installing! This is what is needed to be done with kaspersky

If you have used any third party driver cleaners for getting rid of old drivers? I have done in the past, and it cleaned out too much ati stuff that wouldn't let me install another driver. Which led me to a new OS install.

Thanks for the help, still no luck, might just reinstall as tommy said, don't have the effort to spend any longer on it as I'm pulling my hair out

I may know the answer to this:

Think ive got it now, for anyone with a similar problem, it appears to be related to VC++, heres the patch for it http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067

After you install the patch, install should proceed fine.

Course when I asked here there was similar head scratching, I had to figure out the problem myself
